Job description

The Internship experience is designed to develop student athletes in discerning their calling and career while introducing them to various aspects of ministry through FCA. FCA Interns are collegiate volunteers who engage through FCA in a learning and developmental ministry experience during a summer or a semester. Interns who are serving through FCA are not employees and do not receive compensation by the hour or for production of their work. Interns serving with FCA may receive a nominal stipend for living related expenses during the course of the internship.

FCA internship experiences vary from location to locations; however, the primary goal of each internship is to develop the intern's understanding of his/her individual calling to ministry through related training and experience. Further information about each specific internship is available by contacting the FCA staff associated with this posting.

MINISTERIAL DUTIES

These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.

OVERVIEW - - - - - - Part-time internship of a college student or semester after graduation who is interested in pursuing ministry full time. This internship will immerse them into a setting where they are experiencing the day to day of college ministry. The duration of the job is one semester (Spring 2026 - Jan 1 - May 15) Will consist of approximately 10 hours per week of work. Will work closely with current CSUP FCA staff in growing the huddle, small groups/bible studies, and overall reach on the campus of CSUP. Duties will consist of areas surrounding local outreach, connecting with new student-athletes at huddles, discipleship, and obtaining knowledge of the ministry

GOALS 1. Gain an understanding of the day-to-day aspects of FCA and become an integrated part of the operations with the existing CSUP FCA staff. 2. Grow and nourish a desire for ministry and the spread of the gospel into a practical position that will benefit both the campus and the intern. 3. Explore different avenues of potential growth for the ministry with the added capacity.

SPECIFICATIONS & DUTIES : Once the internship begins, he/she will immediately start to learn the day-to-day aspects of the ministry from interacting with staff, coaches and athletes, attending huddles and small groups, and also some admin work. Each month will consist of a consistent schedule for the intern in order to optimize time and provide a beneficial experience for him/her. Outreach is a huge need for this ministry, the intern will take charge of coordinating monthly outreach opportunities for students to serve in and around the community of Pueblo. Connecting with the local HS huddles. The intern will work with CSUP students in organizing times and dates for them to attend and potentially speak at those huddles. Discipleship opportunities for the intern's personal growth will be available.
