Job Description
  • Overview:

The Komori Pressman is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining sheetfed offset printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials such as brochures, catalogs, labels, and packaging. This role ensures color accuracy, proper registration, and overall print quality while maximizing press efficiency and minimizing waste.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate sheetfed offset presses according to job specifications.
  • Read and interpret job tickets, proofs, and customer specifications to ensure accurate press setup.
  • Mix and adjust inks to achieve consistent and accurate color reproduction.
  • Monitor press operations for registration, color consistency, and print quality throughout production runs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and print-related issues to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Collaborate with prepress, bindery, and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including press downtime, waste, and job completions.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize press performance and reduce waste.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience operating sheetfed presses in a commercial or packaging environment.
  • Strong knowledge of offset printing processes, inks, substrates, and finishing operations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for press equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret job tickets, proofs, and technical specifications.
  • Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:
  • Printing facility with exposure to sheetfed presses, inks, solvents, and noise.
