Job description

Our Intern program is aย paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization's success while at the same time applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Interns are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.ย 

Intern Expectations:

All Interns are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each intern will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.ย 

Important Dates:ย ย 

Our Fall Program runs from Monday, September 14th, 2026 through Thursday, December 10th, 2026.

ย 

Office Hours:ย ย 

  • 9:00 am6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor.ย  Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor's schedules.ย 

Our Intern must:ย 

  • Be available to work under 30 hours per week.ย 
  • Be available to report to the New York office approximately 3-days a week.ย 
  • Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad)ย 

ORย 

  • Be enrolled in a graduate schoolย 

ORย 

  • Have a bachelor's or postgraduate degree.ย ย 

Interview Process: ย 

  • Applications will close on August 14th, 2026
  • If selected, the expectation is that offers will be extended mid to late August.
  • The program will begin on September 14th, 2026.

Marketing Intern Expectations:ย 

  • Assists in brainstorming potential marketing ideas for clients.ย 
  • Assists with NBA Tentpole events as assigned (i.e. NBA Draft)
  • Assists in the execution of clients' marketing and community relations projects (i.e. charity events, production shoots, camps, etc.).ย 
  • Assists in updating and maintaining current client information (i.e. past marketing deals, player interests, social media analytics, press kits, etc.).ย 
  • Assists with client concierge requests (i.e. flights, restaurant reservations, housing, etc.).ย 
  • Assists in marketing team's research of relevant industry trends and brands.ย 
  • Collaborate with other departments within Excel to support clients' marketing endeavors.ย 
  • Works alongside Agents and Marketing Managers in gathering materials for recruiting meetings and sales pitches.ย 
  • Will gain valuable insight on how Excel's marketing department is structured and how it operates internally and externally.ย 
  • Will have access to the Excel team for industry advice and learnings.ย 
  • May occasionally be assigned projects outside the Marketing group to gain exposure to other divisions within Excel.ย 

The pay for this position is: $17.00 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the California and New York City Salary Transparency Law.
