User Assistance Intern - Durham, NC
Duration: 3 months (summer)
Role Description & Responsibilities:
As a User Assistance Intern within the BIOVIA User Assistance team, you will contribute to delivering high-quality technical documentation and improving the usability of BIOVIA software across industries:
  • Convert legacy HTML documentation into structured DITA XML format using dedicated conversion tools
  • Develop and maintain clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation aligned with company standards and style guides
  • Contribute to quality assurance across user assistance deliverables, including documentation, UX content, and messaging
  • Support the modernization of content architecture by helping transition documentation to scalable and structured formats
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation aligns with product workflows and user needs
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance content quality and user experience

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in writing software or technical documentation
  • Familiarity with authoring tools such as MadCap Flare and structured formats like DITA/XML
  • Experience with tools like SnagIt, Camtasia, or similar content creation platforms is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and collaborate effectively within a team
