About Us:
Thayermahan is a leader in Underwater Acoustic Monitoring. In the Persistent Surveillance Systems department, we monitor and localize passive acoustic contacts on a 24/7 operational schedule for many different contracts. Our team is devoted to providing timely and accurate contact reporting on both biologic and manmade contacts. We also do all our piloting in-house for a variety of unmanned vehicles, which we use to carry our acoustic payloads.
Job Title: Assistant Director of Maritime Operations
Job Category/Department: Operational Supervisor/Maritime Operations
Reporting to: Deputy Director of Maritime Operations
Location (In person/Hybrid/Remote): In person
Position Type: Full Time/Part Time/Intern: Full Time
Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Maritime Operations will be responsible but not limited to the following
• Prepare, launch, and recover autonomous vehicles and surveillance equipment
• Creative problem solving on location, platform assembly, troubleshooting, coordination with operations leadership team
• Excellent communicator, team player, budget conscious, adapt to issues in the field, deliver on schedule, and interact with customers
• Flexibility in events that require at sea deployments on short notice
Role and Responsibilities:
• Run a team conducting at sea operations on both small craft and large offshore supply vessels
• Water operations and maintenance of support vessel and all related marine operations equipment assistance - tenders, docks and launch tools (crane/forklift)
