What is intern management?

Intern management refers to the process of overseeing and guiding interns within an organization. This includes recruiting, onboarding, training, assigning projects, providing feedback, and evaluating performance. Effective intern management ensures that interns gain valuable experience while contributing meaningfully to the company’s objectives. Managers in this role help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world work, supporting interns’ professional growth.

What are some common challenges faced when managing interns, and how can they be addressed effectively?

One common challenge in intern management is balancing the interns' learning experiences with the team's productivity goals. Interns may require additional guidance and feedback as they acclimate to the workplace, which can be time-consuming for managers.
