The anticipated salary range for this role is between $158,000.00 and $205,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Vice President Java Developer to join our Front Office Fixed Income Technology team in New York. The successful candidate will partner directly with traders, sales, quants, risk managers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and support mission-critical trading, pricing, risk, and trade lifecycle management applications.
This is a hands-on development role requiring strong technical expertise, solid Fixed Income business knowledge, and the ability to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions in a fast-paced front-office environment. The candidate will play a key role in modernizing the technology stack, driving engineering best practices, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and software quality.

Role Objectives

Software Development
   Design, develop, and maintain front-office applications using Java 17+ as the primary development language.
   Build high-performance, low-latency, and scalable services supporting trading, pricing, risk management, position management, and trade lifecycle workflows.
   Develop microservices and event-driven solutions using modern architecture patterns.
   Design and implement robust APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
   Participate in architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
Front Office Partnership
   Work directly with traders, sales teams, quants, risk managers, operations users, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
   Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical designs.
   Partner closely with the business to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.
Engineering Excellence
   Drive software engineering best practices including: 
o    Clean code principles
o    Test-driven development (TDD)
o    Automated testing
o    Secure coding practices
o    Code reviews
o    Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
   Promote observability, resiliency, and operational excellence across applications.
   Utilize GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, code quality, documentation, test coverage, and developer productivity.
Production Support
   Provide Level 3 support for business-critical production systems.
   Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
   Participate in release planning, deployment activities, and production readiness reviews.
Collaboration
   Collaborate with global technology teams across New York, London, and Asia.
   Work closely with DevOps, infrastructure, architecture, QA, and business teams.
   Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Skills
