Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Back End Developer with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. This role offers flexibility of up to 16 hours of telework per week, based on program needs and sprint priorities.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable backend applications that support critical national security missions. Working within an Agile development environment, you will build and enhance APIs, cloud-based services, and data-driven applications while leveraging technologies such as Python, Java, C++, PostgreSQL, and AWS. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to develop innovative solutions, optimize system performance, and ensure the reliability and security of production systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scalable backend applications and services.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and backend components using Python, Java, and C++.
  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services, including API Gateway and AWS Lambda.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, schemas, stored procedures, and SQL queries.
  • Integrate backend services with existing systems, applications, and data repositories.
  • Analyze user and system requirements to design efficient, scalable, and secure software solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects, performance issues, and integration challenges.
  • Implement and maintain software quality standards through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation plans, and test procedures.
  • Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production software environments.
  • Design and implement algorithms and data-processing solutions to meet mission and performance requirements.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
  • 7+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university (or additional 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
  • Experience supporting development and execution of test procedures for software components
  • Must have demonstrated strong experience with Python, Java, and C++
  • Experience working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL
  • Experience developing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including API Gateway and AWS Lambda
  • Experience using Git for source code management and version control
  • Experience generating technical documentation
  • Experience working within an Agile software development environment
  • Experience using collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Experience ensuring quality control of developed and modified software
