Job description

Gustave A. Larson is a leading wholesale distributor of HVAC, and Refrigeration (HVACR) equipment, parts, and supplies. The Market Manager is responsible for overseeing several operations and sales for an assigned area. This role requires knowledge of HVAC/R systems, industry trends, business acumen, sales and operations.


Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Management Planner Intern to support our HVAC/R wholesale operations. This internship provides hands on experience in inventory planning, purchasing support, demand forecasting, and supply chain coordination within a fast-paced distribution environment.

The ideal candidate is analytical, highly organized, eager to learn, and comfortable working with spreadsheets and inventory data. This role is an excellent opportunity for students or early career professionals interested in supply chain, operations, logistics, or wholesale distribution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with inventory planning and replenishment activities across HVAC/R product lines
  • Monitor stock levels, backorders, and inventory trends to support product availability
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records and item data within company systems
  • Analyze sales history and purchasing patterns to support order cycle planning
  • Support buyers and planners with purchase order tracking and vendor follow-up
  • Use Excel and spreadsheet tools to organize, analyze, and report inventory data
  • Identify discrepancies, shortages, or excess inventory and escalate as needed
  • Collaborating with store and sales teams to improve inventory flow
  • Participate in cycle count reviews and inventory accuracy initiatives
  • Prepare routine reports and dashboards related to inventory performance

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High learning agility with the ability to quickly understand systems and processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management
  • Basic understanding of inventory management, purchasing, or order cycles preferred
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn within a team environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ERP systems or inventory software is a plus
