Job description

ABOUT LVT
LVT is redefining how businesses operate in the physical world, moving beyond traditional security solutions to deliver AI-driven, actionable intelligence that makes sites smarter, safer, and more secure. Since pioneering our first mobile, solar-powered units, our commitment to scrappy, hands-on innovation has made us an established leader and one of the fastest-growing companies in intelligent site technology. We are building the next generation of solutions-from our physical units in the field to a powerful Agentic AI platform-that allows our customers to gain unprecedented visibility and control over safety, compliance, and operations. This is your chance to join a cutting-edge team that isn't just watching the world change, but actively building the technology that is changing it.
We're a team that's focused on growth and innovation, and we're proud that our crew, products, and leadership are being recognized for it.
  • A Top-Tier Growth Company: Named one of the Financial Times' Fastest Growing Companies 2025 and #10 on the Inc. 5000 Rocky Mountain Regional list for 2025.
  • Innovative Leadership: Our CEO, Ryan Porter, was named an EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2025, and our CTO, Steve Lindsey, was inducted into the Silicon Slopes CTO Hall of Fame in 2024.
  • Product & Software Excellence: We were named one of The Software Report's Top 100 Software Companies of 2023 and are a winner of the Security Today Govies Award for 2025.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
Every LVT unit in the field lives or dies on its cameras and sensors. As a Sensor Integration Engineer II (Camera Systems Test Engineer), you'll own how our IP camera, CCTV, and video surveillance systems get configured, commissioned, and qualified-PTZ, thermal imaging, and radar-before a single unit reaches a customer site. You'll build the test plans that catch failures in our American Fork lab instead of in a customer's parking lot, and the validation standards you set will scale across manufacturing and deployment. We hire this role from two backgrounds-security systems integration and hardware QA-and you don't need both.
This is an in-office role based in American Fork, Utah, where you'll collaborate closely with Hardware Engineering, Product Engineering, and Quality teams in our facility.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Configure and commission IP camera and sensor systems-PTZ, thermal imaging, and radar-across LVT hardware platforms, from first bench bring-up to field-ready unit.
  • Build structured test plans and written test cases that hold up across product lines, camera manufacturers, and firmware revisions.
  • Execute qualification and regression test cycles against defined acceptance criteria, and make the call on whether a build passes.
  • Validate real-world camera performance-field of view, focal length and zoom behavior, image quality, detection range, low-light and IR night vision performance-and prove it holds in rain, snow, dust, heat, and direct glare.
  • Troubleshoot failures across the full stack-optics, hardware, firmware, and IP network-performing root cause analysis and documenting it so a defect gets fixed once instead of five times.
  • Partner with Hardware Engineering, Product Quality Engineering (PQE), and Operations to clear sensor-level blockers and keep integration timelines on track through NPI (EVT/DVT/PVT) and into production.
  • Automate the repetitive parts of validation and build the test tooling that makes the next qualification cycle faster than the last.
  • Maintain sensor configuration baselines, test records, and validation documentation that outlive any one product generation.
  • Mentor technicians on camera configuration, test methodology, and disciplined troubleshooting.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Two Ways In: We're hiring this role from two different backgrounds. Come from either one and we'll teach you the other-tell us in your application which side you're strongest on.
    • Track A - Security Systems Integration: You've worked as a security camera technician, CCTV technician, low voltage technician, field service engineer, or security systems integrator, installing and commissioning IP camera systems on real customer sites-mounting, aiming, focusing, addressing, and tuning PTZ, thermal, and multi-sensor units until the picture is right. Experience with NVRs, VMS platforms, or access control is a plus.
    • Track B - Hardware Test & QA: You've worked as a hardware test engineer, product validation engineer, or hardware QA engineer on physical products-writing test plans, running structured test cycles against acceptance criteria, tracking defects to closure in a system like JIRA, and holding a quality bar when a ship date is pressing.
  • Camera & Sensor Fluency: Working command of IP video surveillance fundamentals-ONVIF, RTSP, PoE, H.264/H.265 codecs and bitrate, IR illumination, lux ratings, and how lens choice and mounting geometry drive real field of view.
  • Network Literacy: Comfortable with IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, DHCP, and bandwidth constraints-enough to tell a camera problem from a network problem without escalating.
  • Root Cause Discipline: Strong system-level troubleshooting instincts and the patience to isolate an intermittent failure rather than swap parts until it goes away.
  • Documentation That Scales: You write test procedures and configuration guides other people can actually follow, and you keep records current without being chased.
  • Field-Ready: Comfortable working hands-on with hardware outdoors and in variable weather, including lifting equipment and working at height on units.
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or 3+ years of hands-on experience in security system integration, camera commissioning, or hardware test.

BENEFITS
We believe you do your best work when your whole life is supported. We invest in our crew's health, families, and financial futures with a benefits package designed to support you inside and outside the office. Full-time benefits include, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits (401k match up to 4%), and flexible PTO.
LVT IS PROUD TO BE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. All candidates must pass a drug screening and background check upon employment. Some roles may also require passing a federal background check and fingerprinting. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, and/or to perform essential job functions, please reach out to your recruiter.
