RTX is seeking an experienced GPS Guidance Electronics Subsystem Engineer to join the Guidance Electronics Team supporting advanced missile systems. This role is responsible for the development, integration, analysis, and validation of GPS-based navigation solutions used in mission-critical defense applications.
The selected engineer will work across the full product lifecycle, partnering with systems engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop and deliver advanced guidance electronics hardware. The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems Department provides Electrical Systems Engineering to develop Guidance Electronics solutions for products across the Raytheon portfolio. Our team develops missile Guidance Electronics Hardware. Our core electrical engineering responsibilities include architecture, requirements, integration, and test. Our core electrical engineering technologies include RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Digital, and Power. We partner with several Electrical Product Team departments that provide the detailed design of our electrical products as well as missile level systems teams.
The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems Department is searching for a Principal Subsystems Integration Engineer with experience in hardware design and verification, electrical architecture and system requirement verification. This role involves leading a technical team to solve complex and multi-disciplined problems through product development and integration for both subsystems and overall system level. The Electrical Subsystems Integration Engineer is expected to be a technical subject matter expert (SME) in Guidance Electronics Hardware and provides both technical guidance and supervision in meeting project commitments and leading the team through critical design reviews. They also manage suppliers and may lead proposal development efforts.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience with electrical hardware development, sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development and/or requirement validation
- An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Master’s is equal to 2 years of experience, or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.

Qualifications We Prefer
Missile guidance electronics subsystems typically contain antennas, analog RF circuit cards, digital circuit cards, and configurable logic so the ideal candidate will have a background in designing and troubleshooting of one or more of these components. Ideal candidates will also have experience in project leadership, systems engineering and architecture and have a desire to grow into a higher level.

- Knowledge of mixed signal electronics.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
