Semmes Murphey Clinic's mission is to deliver the best care for people suffering from neurological illnesses while advancing the field of neuroscience.


The Clinic Registered Nurse's (RN) primary responsibility is to assist physicians in providing the best available patient care and treatment. This includes documenting nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients by utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR); explaining procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation, understanding and allay apprehension; removing staples and sutures, dressing wounds, and administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and Semmes Murphey's prescription policy. The Clinic RN also responds to patient calls and portal messages in a timely manner per clinic standard of care, coordinates patient referrals to and from other physician offices, and assists with obtaining prior authorizations for tests, procedures and medications.

Requirements


This position requires a nursing program certificate from an accredited college or university, one (1) year experience as a registered nurse, and current state nursing license and BLS certification. BSN degree and experience working in an outpatient clinic setting is preferred.ย The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and medical practice software, with knowledge of data entry and coding software. Organizational skills with attention to detail are required.ย
