INTERNSHIP PROGRAM SUMMARY:

The DC Housing Finance Agency's Internship Program is designed to attract undergraduate and graduate level students who are interested in the Agency's mission and a career in affordable housing. Interns will perform a variety of assignments designed to enhance their professional and technical development. They will gain valuable on the job training and exposure to a small, fast-paced work environment.


OFFICE OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR INTERN:

The Office of the Executive Director Intern provides direct support to senior agency leadership by assisting with research, data analysis, and the preparation of high-quality presentations and written materials. This role offers hands-on experience collaborating across divisions to address organizational challenges and develop innovative solutions. Interns are expected to take initiative by managing independent projects from concept through completion, while working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, possess strong communication and project management skills, demonstrate critical thinking,

Requirements

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist Agency's senior leadership team with conducting research, gathering information, and synthesizing data

Assist Chief of Staff in the creation of presentations, memos, and other documents

Collaborate with divisions within the Agency to develop creative solutions to challenges

Take initiative and own independent projects (concept to completion) with guidance from supervisor or assigned team member 

Perform other duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university seeking an undergraduate and/or graduate degree

Preferred majors include: Business Management, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or a related major

Have at least a 3.00 grade point average

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Possess strong working knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft Office 365 Suite 

Ability to conduct preliminary research

Possess solid project management skills 

Posses critical thinking skills 

Ability to conduct preliminary research

Ability to successfully and autonomously manage projects of a varied and complex nature

Ability to work proactively and operate accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment with variable deadlines
