Job description: Failure Analysis Operator

Schedule Monday to Friday โ€“ 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Payrate โ€“ Range $19.00 to $23.00 โ€“ DOE

Location โ€“ Durham N C 27703

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Troubleshoots, debugs, and determines root cause at multiple system levels for customer devices

Analyzes circuits and topologies to identify marginal failure root causes.

Drives recovery actions and repairs for failing devices

Develops, maintains, and improves all troubleshooting solutions within area or responsibility.

Works with various engineering groups to determine if the data indicates a need for process/product improvement, and provides input on improvement opportunities

Assists with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures, and test programs.

Improves the Failure Analysis Procedure, and supports cross-training

Knowledge of failure analysis techniques and methodologies

Job Qualifications:

At least 7 Years' experience within an Electronics Tech or relevant role, troubleshooting root cause and failure analysis. In addition , hands on experience in technique enablement and development of supporting HW for Fault isolation and / vacum based microscopic syatems ( e.g. , SEM , DMM )

Knowledge of failure analysis techniques and methodologies.

Associates Degree or Higher in Electronics Technology, or equivalent discipline

Highly proficient in reading and interpreting assembly drawings, schematics, and board layout

Experience in troubleshooting analog and digital circuits

Familiar with the use of a variety of testing and measuring devices such as DMM, oscilloscopes, and benchtop power supplies.

Familiar with data collection and analysis

Is able to set up test stations and device connections per work instructions

Familiar with device and test station maintenance

Energetic and enthusiastic with a strong sense of personal responsibility.

Strong verbal, customer-facing, and written communication skills

Well organized & disciplined with good attention to detail

Must have experience in soldering with PCBs and micro components
