Salary: $28/hour

BGM is seeking bright, motivated, and service-minded accounting students for our Busy Season Tax Internship Program in our Des Moines, Iowa office. We believe that internships during our peak season provide the most meaningful work experience, so our 2027 Internship Program will run from January 2027 through mid-April 2027.


Our Des Moines office offers a collaborative, small-office environment where interns work closely with experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure to client service and tax engagements. Throughout your internship, you will be partnered with team members in varying roles of the Firm to help foster your success, ensure your assimilation into the Firm, and provide you with ongoing feedback on your job performance.


As an Intern, you will:

  • Prepare tax returns with the tax team;
  • Assist with tax planning projects and tax-related research;
  • Complete special projects and client support work as needed;
  • Support multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and communicating progress to supervisors;
  • Gain experience, exposure, and knowledge in a variety of industries;
  • Expand industry knowledge through greater exposure to peers, internal experts, clients, regular self-study, and formal training opportunities.

  • Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program in Accounting
  • On-track to graduate with CPA eligibility
  • A Junior, Senior, or higher status
  • Customer service minded, with experience working in some form of a customer service role
  • Able to work approximately 4050 hours per week during the internship
  • Able to work effectively both on a team and independently
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Residing in or near the Des Moines, IA area during the internship
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis
