Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities:
Tooling Engineering. Tooling Engineering interns support the design, development, implementation, and improvement of production tooling used to build large aerospace structures. Assignments may include assembly jigs and fixtures, drill/trim tooling, handling and lifting devices, work platforms, tooling modifications, and production support. Interns will work with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanics, quality, and suppliers to ensure tooling is safe, functional, accurate, maintainable, and compatible with production requirements.
Potential internship assignments may include:
  • Develop concepts, layouts, models, drawings, and specifications for tooling
  • Support tool fabrication, installation, validation, and production readiness
  • Investigate tooling-related production issues and develop corrective solutions
  • Improve tooling for safety, ergonomics, quality, cost, and flow

These positions are expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Wichita, KS.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate or graduate ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Passion for the aerospace industry and interest and enthusiasm for a career at Boeing
  • Academic excellence (GPA of 3.0 or higher)
  • Previous related internship or work experience and/or involvement with student or civic organizations
  • Majoring in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other related fields
  • The ability to relocate and work onsite
