Job Title: Controls Engineer Intern or Co-Op
Location: Anderson, SC (First Quality Tissue SE)
Mentor: Senior Controls Engineer
Job Purpose:
Controls Engineering broadly focuses on automation and controls projects at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This candidate will be highly involved in projects containing:
  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • Quality Control System (QCS)
  • Motors & Drives
  • Instrumentation
  • Power Distribution

Job Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Modifications- Assist in the design and implementation of modifications to equipment to improve efficiency and performance. Activities may include instrument selection, creating electrical wiring drawings, and DCS/PLC & HMI programming.
  • Troubleshooting- Diagnose and resolve issues related to control systems and equipment malfunctions through systematic troubleshooting.
  • Documentation - Maintain accurate and detailed records of modifications, programming changes, and troubleshooting activities.

Skill Development
Controls software, Ladder Logic, AutoCAD, Team Collaboration, Problem Solving/Troubleshooting
Experience / Skills:
The ideal candidate will be working toward a bachelor's degree in engineering (preference for Electrical), with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
