Jacksonville Waves Photography/Videography Intern
2026 Season Internship
The Jacksonville Waves are seeking a talented and motivated Photography/Videography Intern for the 2026 season. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in live event photography within a professional sports organization. All applications will be kept on file until the start of the internship program each candidate applied for.
Position Overview:
The Photography/Videography Intern will work closely with the Marketing and Content teams to help visually document the excitement of Waves hockey. From capturing the game night atmosphere to special theme night activations, this role provides an excellent opportunity to expand your event photography portfolio.
While game action will be part of the job, a strong emphasis will be placed on documenting fan experiences, in-game promotions, and behind-the-scenes moments that bring the Jacksonville Waves brand to life.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • A portfolio demonstrating experience in photography (event, sports, or lifestyle)
  • Familiarity with DSLR or mirrorless cameras
  • A creative eye for storytelling and composition
  • Working knowledge of Lightroom and/or Photoshop
  • The ability to work in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • A positive, team-first attitude and professional appearance
As a Photography/Videography Intern, Your Responsibilities May Include:
  • Photographing/Videography home games, including fan interactions, theme nights, and key in-game moments
  • Capturing community events, promotional appearances, and team-related functions
  • Organizing and editing photos for use on social media, digital platforms, and marketing materials
  • Assisting with digital asset management and archiving
  • Supporting pre-game setup and post-game breakdown
  • Other duties as assigned
Internship Requirements:
  • Working toward or recently completed a degree in Photography, Media, Visual Arts, or related field
  • Housing and reliable transportation in the Jacksonville area
  • Availability to work all home games and select weekday office hours
  • Personal photography equipment preferred
  • Proficiency in basic photo editing software
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines

Compensation:
This is a non-paid internship. School credit may be earned if applicable.
