About The Role
POSITION SUMMARY:

This summer internship position will allow for a hands-on experience with the Wheatland Bank Commercial Lending team. The position will allow an individual to gain an understanding of small-to-medium sized business and assist with their commercial lending needs. As a Credit Analyst Intern, you will interact with senior bankers, credit support personnel and bank leadership. Your efforts will contribute towards projects and assignments that will expose you to industry expertise. You will research, collect and analyze financial statements, help prepare commercial credit authorizations, and assist the department in loan portfolio management functions.

The pay for this position is $20.00/hour

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITES AND DUTIES:
  • Assists with reviewing loan documentation to ensure all necessary documents are provided and accurate.
  • Analyze financial statements and tax returns to develop and convey questions and comments pertaining to financial trends and relevant borrower and industry data.
  • Will learn how to utilize credit analysis software and Excel modeling to analyze and underwrite commercial loans.
  • Analyze and research the value of collateral securing loans including ordering of appraisals and appraisal reviews, assisting with real estate evaluations, conducting outside collateral inspections, and conducting market research as needed.
  • Supports Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers in related portfolio management activities.
  • Maintain service level expectations as defined by the bank. Models and fosters behaviors that support the Bank’s values and corporate culture.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Comply with Bank policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Active pursuit of Accounting, Finance, Business/Economics or related degree required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  •  Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: up to 35lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
