Job Purposeย 

The Membership Liaison will work under the guidance of the Membership Manager to manage and grow the Cities Without Houses (CWH) Membership across the Houston market. The role is key in creating and nurturing membership communities, driving member acquisition and retention, and fostering brand awareness. You will engage with the local creative scene, propose and execute events, develop strategic partnerships, and support Soho House activations. This role will also involve working closely with the Membership Committee to build a diverse, inclusive, and representative community.

Membership & Community Building

Key Responsibilitiesย ย 

  • Act as a Brand Ambassador for Soho House, promoting its values, culture, and community within your city.
  • Actively recruit 3 new CWH members each month, contributing to meeting quarterly membership growth targets.ย 
  • Network at local events, parties, launches, and social settings to connect with prospective members and build awareness of Soho House.ย 
  • Develop and maintain a consistent presence within the local creative scene, building relationships and gathering insights into trends and needs.ย 
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating meetings with potential members when the Membership Manager is unavailable.ย 
  • Support retention efforts by staying connected with existing members and developing engagement strategies to ensure long-term satisfaction.ย 
  • Contribute to a growing CWH database of potential members and follow up with applicants.ย 
  • Gather local intel on the creative industries in your region, including key trends, challenges, and the emerging cultural scene.ย 

Events and Activations

  • Curate and propose events that align with Soho House's ethos and culture, enhancing member engagement and attracting new members.
  • Work with the events team to help manage logistics, vendor relations, and on-the ground execution for events and activations.
  • Support large-scale events, including guest list management, VIP outreach, and event execution.
  • Host events or collaborate with the membership and events teams to create memorable experiences for Soho House members.ย 
  • Assist in identifying new venues, suppliers, and partnerships to elevate Soho House's presence and event offerings.ย 

Partnerships and Local Outreach

  • Identify potential partnerships and collaborations that align with Soho House's values and increase local visibility.
  • Develop local membership perks, third-party collaborations, and activation strategies that resonate with the local creative community.
  • Leverage your network to build relationships with local opinion leaders, creatives, and key connectors to help spread goodwill and build Soho House's brand.
  • Keep members updated and engaged with relevant content, communication, and information regarding events and initiatives.ย 

Other

  • Ensure consistent, engaging communication with members, providing regular updates about Soho House's events, opportunities, and initiatives.
  • Contribute insights and feedback during team sessions to improve member experiences and event offerings.
  • Support membership initiatives by maintaining accurate records, reporting progress, and offering ideas to enhance community engagement.

Experience Requiredย 

Network: Strong connections in the creative industries in your city/region including key figures in fashion, art, music, tech, media and film etc.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills. Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive conversations with tact and empathy.
  • Personality: Charismatic, confident, and creative with a natural ability to network and build relationships. Passionate about Soho House's core verticals of fashion, art, music, and film.
  • Motivation: Self-starter with a strong drive to work independently and execute initiatives without needing constant oversight.
  • Organization: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experiential Marketing: Previous experience programming or producing events and activations is a plus.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: A well-traveled individual with an appreciation for diverse cultures, perspectives, and social scenes. Passionate about Soho House's diversity and inclusion policies and initiatives.
  • Systems & Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Experience: Background in PR, marketing, or a relationship-building role, particularly within the creative industries, is ideal.
  • Travel: Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support events and activities.ย
