Job description

Communications Internship - Creative Content


Job Summary: The Creative Content Intern will support the Communications Team in generating and editing multilingual digital content, including flyers, infographics, website updates, reels, and other creative assets. This role is essential in communicating La Casita Center's diverse programs and services to the community. The intern will support the organization in maintaining consistent branding across departments and enhancing its overall online presence and strategy


Reports to:This position works in collaboration with all members of the communication team and reports to the Marketing and Branding Specialist.


Required skills for the project:

  • Community-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams
  • Strong social media management and content editing skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Canva
  • Working knowledge of Google Drive tools
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously


Preferable qualifications but not required:

  • Spanish Language Fluency (Fluent or Native Speaker proficiency)
  • Basic photography and video/audio production skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Graphic design experience


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Social Media

  • Support the Communications Team with social media campaigns, including online fundraising initiatives
  • Monitor new and emerging trends to ensure La Casita Center's social media presence remains relevant and engaging
  • Review social media channels biweekly to facilitate positive engagement and identify any activity requiring organizational attention


Content Development

  • Support the development of creative multilingual content, including flyers, reels, and other assets for print and social media
  • Assist the team in maintaining brand consistency by supporting the creation of presentations and other outreach materials
  • Assist in developing La Casita Center branding for specific programming, including but not limited to program logos and color schemes
  • Assist in keeping the website current with accurate and timely content
  • Provide event coverage by taking photos and videos during La Casita Center events
  • Support the organization and labeling of the digital photo gallery


Administrative and outreach

  • Attend weekly communications meetings
  • Attend routine check-in meetings with the support supervisor
  • Support the Outreach Team by attending community events
  • Assist the Outreach Team with reporting duties


Other

  • Support the team with additional tasks as needed
