Position Description
We are looking for a Product Development and Application Engineer Intern at our global headquarters location in Racine, WI. In this position you will work with our Application and Product Development teams on a variety exciting projects. We're looking for an intern to work part-time during the school year and full-time during breaks.
Key Responsibilities
Support Application and Product Development Engineers with:
  • Product design, testing, and validation support
  • Create and revise Engineering and design specifications
  • Design, build and procure test/inspection fixtures
  • Product failure analysis and root cause determination
  • Support cross functional teams, including: Application Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Sample Shop, and Tech Center
  • Conduct engineering calculations
  • Create 3D CAD engineering models and drawings
  • Predict heat exchanger performance using CAE
  • Benchmarking/cataloging of competitor product
  • Enhance engineering tools and processes, in support of continuous improvement activities
  • Problem solve through collaborative engineering exercises
  • Develop knowledge and expertise with Modine's products
  • Document and present findings/results through spreadsheets, reports, and slideshows

Required Education & Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an engineering degree program
  • Basic solid modeling and drawing skill-set (SolidEdge, SolidWorks, ProE, UG, or Catia CAD software)
  • Proven troubleshooting, mechanical, and analytical skills
  • Customer-focused attitude
  • Dedicated to quality and safety
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work in a team environment while taking ownership of projects
  • Available for limited travel with over-night stays
