As an Actuarial Intern, you'll be welcomed into an inclusive and dynamic culture where you'll play a key role in helping to drive toward Pacific Life's goals.Interns will havethe opportunity to spend their summer in the Omaha, NE office working at aFortune 500 company in the financial services industry. Interns will be involved in a diversearray of challenging actuarial projects and internship program activities.

Program highlights include:

  • Product Training: You will be trained in Pacific Life's Annuity products to ensure you start your summer internship with a high-level understanding of what we offer to our customers.

  • Mentorship: You will be assigned an Executive and peer mentor who will meet with you todiscuss their knowledge and experience and provide you with guidance on yourinternship and career path.

  • Hands On Experience: You will be participating in actuarial projects that will give you atrue understanding of the profession. The projects you will work on will contribute toyour teams' and company goals. Examples of projects include: Creating dashboards tovisualize data, Rider Analysis, Cash FlowAnalysis, and Creating tools for efficiency.

  • Rotational Events: You will be invited to a series of interactive learning sessions in whichkey actuaries throughout the company will provide an overview of their department andjob duties as well as their experiences as an actuary. This will include exposure toModeling, Risk Management, Product Design, Pricing, Valuation, Reinsurance and more.

  • Social Activities: Networking opportunities, Executive speaker series, community serviceevents, and social outings.

Who We're Looking For

We are primarily seeking students who are interested in pursuing an actuarial career and expected to graduate between December 2027 and May/June 2028.

High-performing interns may be considered for full-time actuarial opportunities upon graduation.

Factors for Success

  • Completion of at least 1 Society of Actuaries exam is required.

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree majoring in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics,Finance, or Actuarial Science.

  • Ability to problem solve and demonstrate leadership.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Desire to gain more experience in the actuarial field.

The base pay rate for this position is $26.00 per hour for one exam passed, $27.00 for two exams passed, $28.00 per hour for three exams passed, $29.00 per hour for four exams passed (based on exam progress).

Relocation stipend will be available if residence is outside of 50 mile radius from office location.
