Company Description Advance Fencing & Fitness Academy (AFFA) is a top-ranked fencing club in the United States, located in New Jersey and founded in 2013 by a U.S. National Team and Olympic Head Coach. The academy offers world-class training for students of all levels and has produced International, National, and NCAA champions. AFFA emphasizes character, confidence, and leadership through a structured and supportive environment where students develop discipline, perseverance, and self-motivation. Role Description This is an hybrid internship/part-time role for a Sales and Marketing Specialist based in New Jersey. The intern will support day-to-day sales outreach, including responding to inquiries, following up with prospective families, and presenting AFFA’s programs and offerings. Responsibilities include assisting in marketing campaigns, social media promotion, and local outreach to schools, community organizations, and sports programs to increase awareness of AFFA. The main focus will be social media management, Google Analytics, SEO, creating marketing materials and Ads. The intern will also help collect and analyze feedback and participation data to improve marketing effectiveness and participant conversion.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to engage families, students, and community partners effectively.
  • Sales and Sales Management abilities to support outreach, lead generation, and conversion to academy memberships.
  • Training and coaching-related skills to explain program offerings clearly and assist with introductory sessions or orientations.
  • Present and organize marketing data to better deliver future campagins.
  • Create and manage Ads/ sales funnels
  • Develop strategies and marketing materials
  • Proficient or willing to learn Google AdWords and SEO
  • Update company website
  • Interest in sports, youth development, or education; experience in fencing or fitness is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site in New Jersey, including occasional evenings or weekends for events.
  • Organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Proficiency with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, social media platforms); marketing or CRM experience is beneficial.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Marketing, Business, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
