Job description

RVE an Ardurra Company is seeking a Water/Wastewater Intern in our Cherry Hill, NJ Office

This candidate will work under general supervision, performs assignments of limited scope which require the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related tasks. Projects may include water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure improvements.

Primary Function

Under moderate supervision, the Water/Wastewater Intern performs engineering assignments of limited to moderate scope that require the application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and judgment. Assignments will involve supporting water and wastewater engineering projects, including water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure improvements. The Intern I is expected to demonstrate growing technical skills, initiative, and reliability in supporting water and wastewater project teams.

Primary Duties:

  • Under supervision, performs entry level duties of moderate difficulty, offering continued exposure to various departments across the organization.
  • Assists with organizing data, drafting reports and providing technical support for departmental projects. May assist with updates to project documentation and spreadsheets.
  • Supports professional staff on ongoing assignments and project tasks.
  • Applies basic understanding of different concepts and software tools to contribute to project deliverables.
  • Gain further insight into the company’s structure and internal processes through hands- on assignments.
  • Supports project teams with various administrative and technical assignments as needed.
  • Specific activities vary by assignment.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independently
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlook
