Job description

We are a growing solar energy company based in Atlanta, serving the Southeast, committed to helping businesses transition to renewable energy through innovative solutions like Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Our mission is to make clean energy accessible, reliable, and financially beneficial for our customers. We build and own next-generation energy infrastructure - powering cities, businesses and institutions with reliable, renewable energy. We believe the built environment of the future will incorporate renewable power on every surface that can support it. That's why we designed an easy-to-adopt platform that allows large-scale customers to achieve the benefits from solar energy with no upfront investment.

Job Summary

We're seeking a Business Analyst Intern to join our growing team at Cherry Street Energy.ย ย

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of sales enablement and business operations-helping us quantify and demonstrate the value of solar to Commercial & Industrial (C&I) clients while evaluating the overall performance of our internal business models. You'll be responsible for conducting weekly energy rate analyses to power our sales pipeline, analyzing customer outcomes, and turning complex data into actionable insights that drive business growth.

This role will report directly to the Business Operations Manager.ย

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial and data analyses that directly support company growth across the Sales and Capital Markets teams.

  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects aimed at optimizing internal operations and business processes.

  • Regularly update rate schedule data to ensure models reflect the latest utility pricing, tariff structures, and energy projections for prospective and existing customers.

  • Prepare and conduct annual rate reviews for our existing customers.

  • Support and contribute to external business analytics projects and processes to provide data-driven insights used to advise the client and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives.ย

  • Useย statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making.ย

  • Mine, process, and analyzeย internal and external data using KPIs, business results, industry sources, competitor intelligence, and customer information.ย

  • Developย a good understanding of the business's model, objectives, issues, and challenges by interacting and collaborating with users and stakeholders.ย

Job Requirements
  • Strong analytical, creative, and proactive problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to distill complex rate tariffs, utility structures, and energy market nuances into clear mathematical models.ย

  • Ability to communicate complex financial and structural concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Enjoy working with a dynamic, cross-functional team.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, project management, and customer service skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Preferred: Prior experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically with Solar Energy Purchase Agreements (SEPAs) / Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

  • Bonus: Hands-on experience with HubSpot CRM or Helioscope.

You Will Be Successful if You:
  • Onboarding Milestones:

    • First 30 Days: Understand solar production curves and the implications of utility rate schedules; accurately execute a standard solar energy analysis.

    • First 60 Days: Master Cherry Street's Utility Data Analytics process and workflow.

    • First 90 Days: Independently execute and deliver a complex Utility Data Analytics project from end to end.

  • Key Mindset:

    • You thrive when working collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders across diverse backgrounds and skillsets.

    • You are naturally curious and eager to build new analyses that drive positive growth for the team and company.

What We Offer
  • A collaborative and mission-driven work environment

  • Opportunity to make a tangible impact in the renewable energy industry

  • Competitive compensation

  • Flexible PTO Policy and 401(k) with company match
