TITLE Social Media & Marketing Intern
DEPARTMENT Bertarelli Institute for Family Entrepreneurship

PAY RATE $15 per hour
THE OPPORTUNITY
Job Summary
An undergraduate student intern to help grow our student community through social media, marketing, and student outreach. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys social media, storytelling, connecting with students, and creating engaging campaigns.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Social Media & Marketing
  • Develop a content calendar in advance, working with the Bertarelli Associate Director and Student Leaders to gather ideas, feedback, and engagement opportunities, then create and schedule posts
  • Create, schedule, and publish social media posts, stories, and other content, especially for Instagram
  • Capture and organize photos, videos, and content from Bertarelli events and programs
  • Track social media engagement and use insights to improve future content

2. Student Outreach & Community Growth
  • Identify and reach out to students from family entrepreneurship backgrounds and encourage them to register and become part of the Bertarelli community
  • Develop creative outreach campaigns throughout the academic year to increase student awareness, engagement, and registration
  • Partner with Bertarelli Student Leaders to generate ideas and encourage peer-to-peer outreach
  • Help promote Bertarelli programs, events, and opportunities through targeted student communications
  • Track outreach efforts and registration numbers to understand what approaches are most effective

Assume additional responsibilities as needed below:
  • Support other marketing and communications projects as needed
  • Bring new ideas for how Bertarelli can better connect with and engage students

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
  • Interested in social media, marketing, communications, outreach, or storytelling

  • Comfortable using Instagram and familiar with social media trends

  • Creative, organized, and reliable

  • Able to plan ahead, manage deadlines, and work independently

  • Comfortable seeking input and collaborating with student leaders

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Basic experience with Canva or similar design tools is a plus

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
  • Approximately 5-10 hours per week, with flexibility around the student's class schedule.
  • This is a student internship role supporting the Bertarelli Institute for Family Entrepreneurship, working both remote with in-person and remote meetings with the associate director and, as needed, student leaders.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE
  • Experience with Canva or similar design tools.
  • Experience creating social media content or managing an Instagram account.
  • Experience with student outreach, marketing campaigns, or community building.
