We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Ecommerce Merchandising & Digital Marketing Intern to join our marketing/product strategy team for the summer. This role offers hands-on experience across key areas of ecommerce, including visual merchandising, product management, website optimization, SEO, and digital marketing campaigns.

The intern will play a meaningful role in supporting day-to-day ecommerce operations while contributing to projects that improve site performance, data quality, and customer engagement. This is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to learn and gain exposure to the fast-paced world of ecommerce and digital marketing.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

A successful Ecommerce Merchandising & Digital Marketing Intern will show skill in the following areas:

  • Manage and support product uploads on the website, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely execution of product launches. 
  • Assist with product tagging, categorization, and overall site merchandising to maintain a clean, user-friendly shopping experience. 
  • Support product data optimization and cleanup efforts by reviewing vendor B2B platforms and improving product information quality. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to gather product details, images, and marketing assets. 
  • Participate in visual merchandising initiatives, including a full redesign and organization of the Merchology Showroom to enhance product presentation and usability. 
  • Support optimization of automated transactional and marketing emails, including researching prior year performance, recommending workflow updates, and gathering zero party data to aid ongoing segmentation strategies.
  • Support reporting efforts for Marketing channels, including, but not limited to organic social, paid social, email, and others.
  • Assist with on-page SEO optimization efforts to increase organic search ranking and authority on popular search engines, including, but not limited to meta data updates, page audits and redirects, and webpage content creation.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • Strong interest and some foundational experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, or related internships.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw actionable insights, and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Familiarity in ecommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, Magento) and analytic tools (e.g. Google Analytics).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and collaborate effectively with      cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, data-driven mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and adapt to new trends and technologies in SEO, AI, and digital marketing.
  • Able to meet project deadlines independently and follow through on long-term project assignments.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic self-starter with a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to successfully contribute and collaborate in both in-person and remote work environments.
