Job description

In the role of Bridge Intern, we'll count on you to: 
 
  • Gain real-world experience on exciting projects
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
  • Assist with bridge design tasks.
  • Contribute to bridge plan production and related design documentation.
  • Assist with bridge inspections
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with project teams for bridge related design activities, development of plans and construction estimates
  • Participate in mentoring and young professional programs, engaging with company leaders and recent graduates.
  • Perform other duties as needed


 

Preferred Qualifications 
 
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program from an accredited college or university. Been enrolled in structural design classes (i.e. concrete design, steel design)
  • Strong interest in transportation engineering and infrastructure design, primarily bridge design.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
