We are seeking a highly motivated Transportation Management System (TMS) / Freight Management System (FMS) Business Analyst to support and optimize our transportation technology platforms across our growing 3PL network. This role will partner with Transportation Operations, Brokerage, Carrier Management, Customer Success, and IT to improve system functionality, streamline business processes, and enhance customer service.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting enterprise TMS/FMS platforms in a third-party logistics environment and possesses a strong understanding of truckload, LTL, drayage, intermodal, parcel, and brokerage operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary business liaison between Transportation Operations, Brokerage, IT, and external customers for all TMS/FMS initiatives.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for new implementations, system enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Configure and support TMS/FMS functionality including:

Order management
Load planning and optimization
Carrier selection
Dispatch
Freight rating
Shipment tracking
Appointment scheduling
Freight audit and payment
Customer reporting
  • Collaborate with software developers and integration teams on API, EDI, ERP, WMS, GPS, telematics, and customer connectivity projects.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and production validation.
  • Analyze transportation workflows to identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Support customer implementations, new transportation services, and system rollouts.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate resolutions with Operations, IT, and software vendors.
  • Develop SOPs, business process documentation, training materials, and user guides.
  • Create dashboards and reports to improve transportation visibility and operational performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, service improvements, and process standardization.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Information Systems, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting Transportation Management Systems or Freight Management Systems.
  • 3+ years of experience within a 3PL, transportation, brokerage, or supply chain environment.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation operations including:

Truckload (TL)
Less-than-Truckload (LTL)
Parcel

Carrier management
  • Experience gathering business requirements and documenting functional specifications.
  • Experience supporting software implementations, integrations, and testing.
