Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 5 years of experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details
  • Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital with 100-200 births per month
  • Patient population includes antepartum, labor and delivery, mother/baby, and level I nursery care
  • 1:2 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Uses Cerner EMR
  • May float within the hospital based on clinical experience, not to nearby facilities
Requirements
  • Active SC or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHM required (AWHONN Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
  • Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and forceps/vacuum extraction
  • Experience managing high-risk medications including magnesium sulfate, pitocin, and antihypertensives
  • Experience with fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
  • Perform triage of obstetrical patients and assist with sterile speculum and vaginal exams
  • Support patients through NST and OCT testing
  • Provide postpartum care including couplet care, fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, and hemorrhage management
  • Assist with pain management including epidural, nitrous oxide, and PCA administration
  • Provide newborn care and assessment immediately following delivery
  • Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previously employed staff must have a 12-month gap before returning to this facility
