Job description

Electrical Engineer

Location: Tampa, FL


We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Tampa. This is an opportunity for a an electrical engineer with extensive building design experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams on commercial building projects.
  • Perform construction administration, including site observations, shop drawing reviews, and punch lists.
  • Define and manage project scope to ensure contract documents accurately reflect client requirements.
  • Proactively manage scope changes and work variances to keep projects on schedule and meet client expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, architects, owners, contractors, design professionals, and code officials.
  • Prepare original electrical specifications and project manuals, including coordination of sub-consultant specifications.
  • Evaluate electrical system and equipment options with consideration for performance, constructability, and cost.
  • Support cost containment and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Apply knowledge of applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.


Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
  • 4+ years leading and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Revit MEP proficiency required.
  • Experience with design-build, design-bid-build, fast-track, and other project delivery methods.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of local, state, and national codes and engineering regulations.
  • Strong technical and computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and engineering software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of electrical equipment, systems, configuration options, constructability, and relative project costs.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and based in the Tampa, FL area.
