Overview

Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) (E30-2026-25745):

Bowhead seeks a DoD SECRET cleared Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to join our team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.

Responsibilities

The Model-Based Systems Engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Government leads and engineers to help develop system diagrams to represent system interactions
  • Knowledge and experience in Cameo (or other modeling software) and SysML architecture practices
  • Be able to work with a diverse group of engineers (mechanical, electrical, and software) to integrate in feedback and comments into robust models
  • Collaborate with other NAVY MBSE groups to help refine system engineering practices and align common practices
  • Provides logical ties to existing documents to show support for requirement definition
  • Helps foster growth of less experienced Systems engineers (internally and to government engineers)
  • Prepares technical documentation of model-based progress and advancement
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
  • Three (3) to five (5) years professional technical experience with familiarity of Naval Weapon Systems
  • Possesses a robust knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodology
  • Must have direct experience with the Cameo Systems Modeler tool and MagicDraw, or other MBSE based software
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 to 25 pounds. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

Target salary is $100,000/annually to $150,000/annually commensurate with experience

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
