Our forward-thinking architectural studio in Austin seeks a talented Intermediate Designer to develop design solutions and coordinate design through all project phases. This role will require someone to develop and refine architectural designs that are both beautiful and functional, tailored specifically to each client's needs. We want a designer who will assist the design process from initial concept through to final construction, while ensuring the seamless integration of all project elements. This role will connect with clients to understand their vision and deliver design solutions that exceed their expectations. WHAT YOU'LL DO�.
You'll join the architecture studio, which focuses on producing functionally beautiful spaces for clients by combining creativity and technical knowledge. Depending on the day, your responsibilities will include:
  • Competent in all conventional aspects of architectural practice with an emphasis on the technical implementation of the project design.
  • Performs work requiring independent judgment and critical thinking.
  • Adapts standards and criteria to project requirements and possesses a diverse working knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Coordinates and produces Contract Documents with support and direction from the Project Manager, Project Architect, and other senior staff.
  • Act as day-to-day client contact and have the most in-depth knowledge of all the project's facets.
  • Facilitate project presentations that deliver a consistent message to the client.
  • Manage work plans, schedules, programs, communication, and project team assignments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS�
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 3-5 years of experience in architectural practice with a focus on construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of architectural detailing and current construction standards.
  • Proficient in Revit and other design software and their application to Contract Documents.
  • Knowledge of codes, consultant's coordination (civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural), and ability to successfully complete the permitting process with minimal aid and supervision.
  • Knowledge of design and construction project schedules, as well as construction contract administration processes.
  • Ability to determine project entitlement and permitting needs for local jurisdictions.
  • Effective communication skills, both conversational and written, for project collaboration and documentation, with a willingness to represent STG in front of clients.
  • Problem-solver mentality with a willingness and eagerness to learn.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS�
  • Proficient in Enscape preferred.
  • Working knowledge of parametric modeling (Grasshopper, Dynamo) a plus.
  • Technology forward thinking and top-notch graphics skills.
  • Experience working on multifamily and industrial market sector projects; knowledge of master planning and yield studies.
