Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is seeking an Intermediate-Senior Electrical Technologist/Designer of various mechanical systems for buildings and industrial projects, for both new construction and renovation projects across Ontario.

This role may be based in any Wood office in the GTA including Burlington, Oakville, Richmond Hill or Cambridge, ON.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design work of electrical systems for buildings and industrial projects, for both new construction and renovations projects
  • Preparation of drawings for electrical systems
  • Preparation of specifications for electrical systems
  • Coordination of work with work of other engineering disciplines
Skills / Qualifications
  • 5 years+ design experience with electrical systems for buildings and industrial projects, for both new construction and renovations projects
  • Work experience should include building and industrial design projects and involve all aspects of electrical system design including lighting and controls, emergency lighting, low and high voltage power distribution, telecommunication systems, fire alarm systems and security systems including CCTV, Intrusion alarm and access control.
  • Good working knowledge of electrical systems and familiarity with working through the design and preparation of drawings for complex systems and processes
  • Work experience on inter-discipline projects
  • Ability to use AutoCAD is required. Experience with Revit considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written and candidate will possess excellent people management skills
  • Ability to handle challenges and work under tight deadlines
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel as requested and be willing to work overtime
