The ideal candidate has strong hands-on CNC machining experience, understands tight tolerances and GD&T, and is capable of independently creating and editing CNC programs using Mastercam.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, and 5-axis machining centers.
  • Create CNC programs and toolpaths using Mastercam for new and existing components.
  • Program complex machining operations for 3-axis and 5-axis milling and CNC turning applications.
  • Review, edit, optimize, and troubleshoot existing CNC programs to improve quality, cycle times, and machining efficiency.
  • Perform machine setups, changeovers, tooling selection, fixturing, and workholding.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Determine appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, cutting strategies, and machining sequences.
  • Load programs and adjust machine offsets, tooling, speeds, and feeds as needed.
  • Set up and operate 5-axis CNC equipment for complex, high-precision components.
  • Operate and program CNC lathes for turning, facing, boring, threading, and other machining operations.
  • Inspect machined components throughout the production process to ensure dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Machine components to tight tolerances while maintaining established quality and production standards.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, dimensional, and machine-related issues.
  • Identify tool wear and make necessary adjustments or tool changes.
  • Perform deburring, cleaning, and finishing of machined components as required.
  • Complete first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintain CNC equipment and work areas.
  • Accurately complete production, inspection, and quality documentation.
  • Follow established safety procedures and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve machining processes and resolve manufacturing issues.
Qualifications

  • Experience programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam CNC programming.
  • Ability to create programs and toolpaths from blueprints, models, and engineering specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, speeds, feeds, fixtures, and workholding.
  • Ability to independently take a part from programming through setup, machining, and inspection.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and tight-tolerance machining.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a skilled machinist/programmer who can take ownership of the machining process from programming and setup through production and final inspection.
