Job SummaryThe Intermediate Building Analyst will be performing whole building energy simulation with a variety of building energy modeling software under the supervision and guidance of more experienced staff on the team. The Intermediate Building Analyst is also expected to be providing training to Junior staff on the team.Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform annual building energy and parametric simulation for various building types across multiple software platforms (e.g., IESVE. eQuest).
  • Prepare the required reports for submission to clients, authority having jurisdiction, etc.
  • Coordinate with internal and external design team members as required.
  • Assist in training junior staff and reviewing their work.

Required Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with building energy codes and green building standards: ASHRAE, NECB, LEED, CaGBC Zero Carbon, Passive House, etc. and provincial and municipal codes like BC Energy Step Code, Toronto Green Standard.
  • Proficient understanding of MEP systems, architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling software.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in IESVE.
  • 3+ years in energy modeling or design analytics
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • EIT with ability to apply for P.Eng
  • Desirable credentials: BEMP, LEED AP, CPHC/D
  • Experience in energy audits and programming tools is a plus
