Job description

Xcite Automotive is seeking an Automotive Detail Shop Assistant Manager for our dealership partners in Commerce Township, Michigan! 

Job Description : An Assistant Manager will help support daily workflow, guide the detail team, complete quality checks, and assist with interior and exterior detailing as needed. This role is best for someone who can lead by example, stay organized in a fast-paced dealership environment, and help ensure vehicles are cleaned, detailed, and retail-ready. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with experience in automotive detailing, dealership reconditioning, car wash operations, fleet washing, or vehicle prep. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily detail shop operations, vehicle workflow, and production priorities
  • Lead, train, and support detailers, car wash attendants, porters, and reconditioning team members
  • Perform hands-on interior and exterior detailing as needed
  • Complete quality control checks to ensure vehicles are clean, detailed, and dealership-ready
  • Monitor turnaround time, productivity, and vehicle completion status
  • Communicate shop updates, delays, staffing needs, and quality concerns to management
Minimum Qualifications / Must-Haves
  • 2+ years of professional automotive detailing experience (interior and exterior).
  • Prior supervisory, lead, or assistant manager experience in a shop, dealership, or reconditioning environment.
  • Strong knowledge of detailing products, tools, and safety practices.
  • Reliable transportation and full-time availability, including weekends if needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support a dealership workflow.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications / Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience as a Detail Shop Manager, Assistant Manager, or Lead Detailer.
  • Background in dealership operations or reconditioning services.
  • Ability to train and mentor detailers on best practices and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
