We are seeking an Interior Designer II to join our Interiors team-someone who is ready to take the next step in their career by leading portions of projects, engaging directly with clients, and contributing to design excellence across a wide range of project types.
Position Overview
The Interior Designer II is responsible for independently managing small projects or leading defined aspects of larger, more complex projects. This role focuses on design development, documentation, and client coordination, working collaboratively with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure project goals are met. The Interior Designer II is expected to interact confidently with clients, manage project responsibilities with growing autonomy, and contribute to the firm's culture of learning and design quality. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects in different phases simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining design quality and client service.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Design Development
  • Develop and refine interior design concepts that align with client goals, program requirements, and aesthetic vision.
  • Select and specify materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment with attention to function, budget, and design intent.
  • Prepare clear, compelling design presentations for client review and approval.

Project & Client Management
  • Independently manage small interior design projects or lead components of larger projects.
  • Track project schedules and budgets to support timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for interior design-related client communication.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors to maintain design integrity through implementation.

Documentation & Implementation
  • Produce comprehensive construction documents and specifications.
  • Participate in site visits and coordinate with the project team during construction to ensure design intent is executed.
  • Review submittals and respond to design-related questions during construction.

Professional Growth
  • Stay informed on interior design trends, materials, codes, and industry standards.
  • Participate in firmwide professional development and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.
  • 5+ years of professional interior design experience.
  • NCIDQ and/or LID certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrates ability to multitask effectively, manage competing deadlines, and remain nimble in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment.
