Job description

SUMMARY
CTI Ready Mix, Inc. is looking for self-motivated and experienced mixer truck drivers that will provide outstanding customer service by delivering a quality product safely and efficiently. They will drive a transit mixer truck to deliver concrete mix and other construction-related products to job sites in the Des Moines metro area. The Mixer Truck Driver will always represent the company in a friendly and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Drive mixer truck to and from job sites and batch plants delivering concrete to customers, in accordance to the proper daily driver process.
  • Follow the ticketed route pre-planned by dispatch, selecting the most direct and safest course. Record accurate driver status using GPS software.
  • Communicate jobsite issues, traffic conditions, and special circumstances to dispatch to aid in decision making and the routing of future loads.
  • Inspect concrete prior to delivery and at the point of delivery. Adjust slump as requested by customers.
  • Ensure the customer is satisfied with the product at the point of delivery and provide the highest level of customer service at job sites.
  • Assemble concrete chute to the back of the truck for unloading at sites. Wash down and replace chute on truck after delivery.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections on truck and equipment to ensure safety standards.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork, collect payment from customers when required, and maintain records of daily activities.
  • Maintain interior and exterior truck cleanliness by following proper wash and cleanliness procedures; after loadout, after unloading, end of day cab cleaning, and regular seasonal maintenance.
  • Assist mechanics in performing minor and capable maintenance on CMVs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate safety equipment and using excellent safety practices, while visiting job sites per CTI policies, OSHA, and Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Mixer truck experience a plus!
  • Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement required (must maintain valid CDL while employed).
  • Valid state Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Must pass Federal DOT record check (FMCSA Clearinghouse).
  • Must pass post-conditional offer of employment DOT physical.
  • Able to work flexible hours M-F with some Saturdays.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills. Work well under time constraints and respond positively to change.
  • Professional, friendly, possesses a positive attitude, self-motivated, and proactive.
