Job description

Our client, Hawthorne House, is hiring for the Project Coordinator/ Executive Assistant position. This position supports the design firm and the business owner. They may work in the sales room in Athens, GA, they may work from home, and they may meet with the owner in Atlanta. This is a robust job opportunity for the right person. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented person with a strong technical knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily retail sales within the Hawthorne House showroom, providing warm, attentive service to clients and design professionals.
  • Oversee the consignment program for high-end furnishings, antiques, art, artisan, and decorative objects, including intake, pricing, photography coordination, and merchandising.
  • Work with the marketing team to maintain and update Shopify, ensuring inventory accuracy and a refined presentation of products.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create content in Canva and coordinate Instagram Shopping posts and stories that highlight new arrivals and featured artists.
  • Support the Outside Sales Specialist with project coordination, order tracking, and vendor communication when needed.
  • Organize and host showroom events, including lunch and learns, vendor presentations, and community gatherings that foster relationships and engagement.
  • Maintain the visual presentation of the showroom, ensuring that displays are refreshed, cohesive, and aligned with the Hawthorne House brand.
  • Track retail and consignment sales, maintain accurate records, and assist with shipping, delivery coordination, and vendor communications.
  • Participate in showroom meetings to coordinate initiatives and share insights on customer preferences, merchandising opportunities, and community outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Decorative Arts, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in retail sales, visual merchandising, or showroom coordination.
  • Knowledge of furnishings, decorative arts, and lighting, with an appreciation for craftsmanship and quality.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Familiarity with Shopify, Instagram Shopping, and web-based retail systems.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must be proficient in project management software.
