Interior Designer - Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo, Michigan

DISHER is excited to partner with a collaborative design studio on an Interior Designer based out of either their Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids studio. This studio integrates architecture, interior design, and experiential branding from the inception of every project, in order to design experiences and places that foster happiness, health, and connection, helping people live their everyday lives more fully. As an Interior Designer, you will contribute to a variety of project types and sizes, through all phases of Design, from concept development to implementation. You will be working collaboratively with our team of Project Managers, Architects, Designers within the studio on client projects as well as internal projects to contribute to the growth & advancement of the organization.

  • Prepare interior design documentation including finish plans, specifications and coordination with project teams.
  • Research and select furniture, finishes and materials that align with project goals.

  • Support the continued growth and culture of the studio through collaboration and positive team engagement.
What will make you successful:
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Interior Design (CIDA accredited) 
  • 1-7 years professional commercial design experience preferably with a focus on
  • workplace/hospitality design/higher education/multifamily
  • Experience in interior design documentation & organization 
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications 
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas 
  • Proficiency with design software such as SketchUp, ArchiCAD or Revit and visualization tools including Adobe Creative Suite or similar programs.
  • Proactive, Positive, can-do attitude, committed to growth & learning.
