Job description

General summary

The Associate Interior Designer will contribute to the success of the firm by assisting in all aspects of design development, sourcing, meeting preparation, maintaining organized drawings and specifications, and maintaining our sample library.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • General research and all sourcing of products and materials including pricing and availability.
  • Execute all fabric reserves, stock checks, and vendor information requests.
  • Assist with design development.
  • Prepare for client presentations.
  • Organize and manage sample library.
  • Create, and update as needed, documents such as client proposals, work orders, schedules, etc.
  • Approve CFAs.
  • Organize pickups and deliveries.
  • Coordinate installation process.
  • Create elevation drawings and floor plans.
  • Scale furniture.
  • Take onsite measurements.
  • Assist procurement with order tracking updates.
  • Assist accounting with client payments.
  • Type up and organize meeting notes, project status, deliverables, etc.
  • Maintain organized client physical and digital files.
  • Accurate and timely record keeping on projects.
  • Visual presentations.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Exceptionally detail oriented with excellent time management, planning and organizational skills.
  • Aware of Elements and Principles of design and phases.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Studio, Microsoft Office, and Monday.com.
  • Graphic presentation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive for results, often working independently.
  • Capacity for multiple projects/ activities with a commitment to deadlines by prioritizing tasks and following up.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and willingness to assist others.
  • Passion for design and willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic and inspiring work environment.
  • Hand sketching is a plus.
