Job description

Basic Function: Lead and support the firm’s interior design team while actively developing and executing creative, functional, and technically sound interior design solutions. Provide day-to-day design leadership, mentorship, and coordination to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery that meets client objectives, budgets, and schedules.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

Included but not limited to:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the interior design team.
  • Coordinate with project managers design fees related to interiors scope
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to develop creative, functional, and practical interior design solutions.
  • Lead interior design efforts through schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Prepare and coordinate design documents, renderings, finish plans, schedules, specifications, and related project materials.
  • Select and specify interior materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, equipment, lighting, and color schemes.
  • Develop programming and space planning solutions based on client needs and project requirements.
  • Coordinate interior design requirements with architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and other project team members.
  • Review interior design work for quality, consistency, and adherence to firm standards, project budgets, and schedules.
  • Develop and implement firm interiors design standards to ensure consistency in workflow and presentation of documents
  • Assist in business development opportunities to establish relationships with Hospitality and/or interiors lead project types


Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate with design professionals.
  • Proficiency in Revit and knowledge of 3-D rendering programs such as Twinmotion, Enscape, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and specifications.
  • Strong design, visualization, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance aesthetics, functionality, building systems, project requirements, and budgets.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and client-service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).


Education/Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible interior design experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and providing guidance or mentorship to other designers, and understanding of fee management
  • Experience working within an architecture, engineering, or multidisciplinary design environment preferred.
  • NCIDQ Certification preferred.
