Job description

SUMMARY:
Produce creative design recommendations that meet or exceed client expectations. Develop space solutions and recommend products, colors and finishes for clients. Provide leadership through mentoring and training of new or less knowledgeable team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Gather information through field measurements, inventory of product for clients, and programming necessary to complete projects accurately. Develop, design and create new application ideas.
  • Space plan and provide accurate specification and application plans along with detailed installation drawings for projects.
  • Participate and assist with sales opportunities, where possible. Assist in the development and presentation of sales proposals – Power point presentations, 3D renderings, preparing Presentation boards
  • Establish realistic expectations with clients.
  • Effectively work within the A amp;D community to help build positive working relationships.
  • Assist with the planning and organizing of events to promote SBI within the design community along with facility and purchasing departments.
  • Development of customer standards documents and available for checking other designers specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of products, policies, and expectations with positive support for new or changing priorities of the department.
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain those relationships in a productive way.
  • Provide assistance to the department, when necessary, to help balance departments workload.
  • Develop and execute goals and plans to accomplish assigned work.
  • Ability to manage high profile projects and clients.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities from design services and accurately record billable time.
  • Provide leadership through mentoring of new or less knowledgeable team members.
  • Assistance with training needs and other projects determined appropriate by Design Manager.
  • Positive support for new or changing priorities of the department.
  • Be a leader in usage and implementation of new products, programs, amp; software.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architectural studies/interior design required.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, 3-D rendering, computer specification, and Configura software.
  • Experience with CAP software and Hedberg preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Minimum four years of design layout experience and/or dealer design.
  • Ability to handles stressful situations effectively and with tact.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to create solutions to obstacles/problems quickly.
  • Strong space planning skills and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor within the team effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively and meet deadlines, regardless of time constraints.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with a strong attention to detail.
