Position Summary

Lawrence Groupโ€™s St. Louis office is seeking an experienced Design Professional with 1-4 years of architectural interior design or architectural experience in a professional office environment to join our Retail Design Studio. This position will have the opportunity to contribute to diverse architectural projects across retail markets, contributing to all phases of project development, from conceptualization to construction administration, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and high-quality design solutions.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of design concepts, schematic drawings, and 3D models for architectural projects in various market sectors.
  • Support senior architects and project managers in gathering project requirements, conducting site analysis, and assessing client needs.
  • Contribute to the preparation of presentation materials, including renderings, diagrams, and visualizations, to communicate design ideas effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors, to integrate technical requirements and ensure design feasibility.
  • Produce architectural drawings, plans, and elevations using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Assist in the coordination of project documentation, including specifications, schedules, and construction details, to ensure accuracy and compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Stay informed about current trends, technologies, and best practices in architecture and design, and contribute ideas for innovation and improvement.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as organizing project files, preparing meeting agendas, and maintaining project documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1-4 years of experience in architectural design, with a portfolio demonstrating involvement in a variety of project types and phases.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas through drawings, renderings, and presentations.
  • Solid understanding of architectural principles, building materials, and construction techniques.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with rapid project turnaround and timelines typically measured in weeks rather than months.
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and standards applicable to various project types and locations.
  • Membership in professional organizations related to interior design or architecture (e.g., IIDA, AIA) is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment with hybrid schedule capability. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This position requires no minimum ability to lift, bend, or stand.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with a typical Monday-Friday work schedule.

Travel

Moderate travel is expected for this position.
