JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Interactive Developer to lead the design, development, optimization, and support of enterprise-level websites, web applications, integrations, and CMS-driven digital platforms. This role is responsible for building secure, accessible, and mobile-first digital experiences while ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability across complex web environments.

The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, test, and enhance front-end interfaces, APIs, workflows, and integrations using modern web technologies. This position also plays a critical role in troubleshooting complex production issues, conducting root cause analysis, implementing performance and security improvements, and promoting development best practices through peer code reviews, testing, and standards-based development. Additionally, the Senior Interactive Developer will support and evolve enterprise web platforms and content management solutions, including Elastic-powered technologies, Alfresco community-version environments, Crafter CMS and other headless CMS platforms, while driving sustainable architecture, integration, and process improvements that enhance the overall digital ecosystem.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience (4 years), with a preferred concentration in computer science or web development.
  • Experience
    5 years' experience developing more complex interactive websites and applications, including formal training in web development.
    Requires strong skills in HTML, CSS, and Javascript, and well as experience in programming for the web (PHP, Ruby, Python).
    Strong experience working with databases like MySQL, MS SQL Server, and Oracle.
    Senior experience developing mobile and tablet applications for Android platforms, Apple devices, and other emerging media.
    Openness to learning new technologies a must.


JOB DUTIES

  • Performs senior level responsibilities such as performance tuning and testing, website/application security testing and applying industry best practices for enterprise web development.
  • Configure innovative front-end interfaces and functionality for new and current websites, micro sites, online promotions, ad banners, interactive applications and other online interfaces.
  • Ensure all work output incorporates stakeholder requirements, employs best practices in UI, navigation, usability, and works in multiple browser platforms (including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc. for both PC and Mac).
  • Collaborate closely with web producers, developers, marketing managers and the creative and editorial teams on implementing static and interactive designs and web functionality.
  • Assists with information architecture development.
  • Supports and expands upon institutional branding efforts, as well as business, market and user requirements.
  • Stay abreast of current trends in Web design, usability and information architecture.
  • May provide work direction for Interactive Web Developers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
