Job description

Job Description
J2 Interactive is looking to grow our Business Development team to pursue and cultivate new business opportunities in Healthcare IT. You'll be directly responsible for the development and expansion of our customer base as we continue to diversify our IT product and service offerings. The ideal candidate will be fully capable of acting independently and self-sufficiently, earning the trust of executives and colleagues by being a "doer" not a delegator. Senior candidates with leadership experience (or potential) will be given special consideration.
You must have a strong background in the healthcare IT industry, preferably with a focus on professional services, and a proven track record of driving business growth and forming strategic partnerships. We expect you to be a reliable professional able to qualify and pursue opportunities independently; communicate and collaborate internally with our senior management, solution architects, and delivery teams; and achieve balance between customer advocacy and a results-driven approach.
Your mission will be to find opportunities and turn them into long-term profitable relationships based on trust and mutual success. You'll be backed up by an award-winning team of over 250 healthcare IT experts with an incredible track record of success with technologies such as InterSystems HealthShare, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Salesforce.
Though our headquarters is located in Charlestown (Boston), MA, this is a telecommuting position open to anyone who's eligible to work in the US. A certain amount of travel is expected, mostly to conferences, but this does not have to be a travel-heavy position if you can show success selling remotely.
Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check. No recruiters or third party solicitations please.
Skills Description
The ideal candidate is a business-savvy leader who is passionate about healthcare IT with proven experience selling consulting services and solutions to prospective customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our growth and success in the healthcare sector, so you must have the domain expertise and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. A high-level understanding of healthcare technology (integration / HIE platforms such as InterSystems HealthShare, EHR platforms such as Epic and Cerner, cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, etc.) is also very valuable but not strictly necessary.
Responsibilities:
  • Create, develop and implement strategic business plans and target account lists to facilitate the attainment of goals and quotas
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to close
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new sales opportunities and turn them into long-term partnerships
  • Attend industry conferences and events to network and promote the company
  • Present products and services to prospective clients and partners
  • Prepare detailed proposals in collaboration with solution architects and senior management
  • Negotiate pricing and other business terms agreements as part of deal closing
  • Provide professional post-sale support to ensure customer success
  • Remain in frequent contact with your clients to understand their evolving needs, identify follow-on opportunities, and grow the value of accounts over time
  • Keep comprehensive records using Salesforce, and publish regular updates through email and Slack to provide senior management and colleagues with clear visibility into your sales pipeline

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Sales Account Executive, Business Development Executive, or in a similar sales/customer service role, preferably in the healthcare industry
  • Proven track record of conducing market research, driving sales growth, and negotiation
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare IT market, including trends, challenges and opportunities
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build strategic relationships
  • Organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to stay productive and accountable in an environment that does not micro-manage
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to qualify opportunities, identify decision makers, articulate pain points and their potential remedies, and negotiate pricing
  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated and results-oriented personality with genuine passion for the subject matter of our work
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, healthcare administration, or relevant fields
