Locum Physician - Gastroenterology in Lakewood, CO

Join a leading facility in Lakewood, CO, offering flexible scheduling with weekend and weekday shifts, competitive pay, and the opportunity to provide vital care in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Immediate start available with ongoing coverage needs, ideal for experienced gastroenterologists seeking a rewarding locum role.

Location: 11600 West 2nd Place, Lakewood, CO

Start Date: 08/22/2026

End Date/Duration: Ongoing (first coverage 09/06-10/10, similar schedule for Jan 2027 ongoing)

Shift: 24-hour call, 7 a.m. to 7 a.m.

Hours/Week: Variable, based on call and coverage needs

Employment Type: Locum/Temporary

Licenses/Certifications: Clinical license required; ERCP & EUS experience preferred

Experience: 2+ years in GI, proficiency in endoscopy, ERCP, and EUS

What You'll Do

  • Provide inpatient gastroenterology care at a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Perform procedures including endoscopy, ERCP, and EUS
  • Evaluate and manage GI-related problems and gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Participate in on-call coverage, including response to emergent cases
  • Collaborate with hospital staff on patient diagnosis and treatment plans
  • Document patient care accurately in EPIC EMR
  • Support hospital efforts to ensure continuous patient coverage

What You Need

  • Colorado medical license or active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
  • At least 2 years of GI clinical experience, including ERCP & EUS procedures
  • Proficiency in EPIC EMR (experience preferred)
  • Ability to work 7-day shifts, with flexibility for ongoing coverage
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Level 1 Trauma settings
  • Pediatric trauma experience (patients 15+, and up to 50 kg)
  • Experience with inpatient consult services in GI
