Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

The Forklift Operator plays a key role in receiving products and preparing raw materials for outbound shipments. In this position, you spend the majority of your day operating a sit-down forklift to move stock and prepped shipments, ensuring materials are handled safely, efficiently, and accurately in a clean and well-organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming products and verify materials against documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare raw materials and products for outbound shipments, including staging and organizing loads.
• Operate a sit-down forklift for approximately 95% of the workday to move stock and prepped shipments.
• Handle heavy and irregularly sized loads, including lift work over 2,500 lbs, with a focus on safety and load stability.
• Load and unload materials and shipments in a safe, efficient, and organized manner.
• Follow established safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a detailed, safety-focused work environment.
• Work respectfully and collaboratively with team members, supporting a professional and positive workplace culture.
• Maintain a clean, quiet, and orderly workspace, including keeping aisles clear and minimizing congestion.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate material flow and production needs.
• Adapt to working at either the main site or nearby central location as required by operational needs.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of recent experience operating a sit-down forklift in a production or warehouse environment.
• Experience operating reach or counterbalance forklifts with heavy loads over 2,500 lbs.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a professional manner, supported by references.
• Proven experience loading and moving heavy and sometimes unusually sized products safely.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to detailed safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to work respectfully with others and contribute positively to the team environment.
• Capability to operate forklifts for extended periods, including spending most of the day on the lift.

This is a Permanent position based out of Perth, ON.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $50000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Perth,ON.
