The Hedging Research Intern Analyst position is a rewarding experience for those pursuing a PhD in a variety of technical fields.
During the program, Hedging Research Intern Analysts will work alongside our team of quants, portfolio managers, software developers, researchers, and traders to assess and mitigate the market risks for Allianz Life and other clients across the globe.
What you do:
  • Research Analyst Interns will support the dynamic hedge trading desk while expanding their technical skills, programming abilities, and knowledge of financial math.
  • Research, develop, and modify quantitative models for derivatives hedging.
  • Implement quantitative models in C#
  • Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).

What you bring:
  • Progress towards, or completion of, a PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science, economics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills in mathematical modeling, reading papers, writing software for research purposes.
  • The right candidate will possess an outstanding record of academic achievement and an interest in the financial markets.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.

Base Salary Range $31/hr - $35/hr
Note the job posting range is exclusive of company benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, competencies, and/or education. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
